Odisha 2nd runners-up in kickboxing Nationals

Assam emerged overall championship, bagging 22 gold medals in the 18th Sub-junior, Junior and 19th Senior National Kickboxing Championships, which concluded here at Saheed Nagar Indoor Hall today. Haryana became first runners-up with nine gold, while host Odisha finished second runners-up, securing seven gold.
A 30-member Odisha squad bagged a total of 34 medals, which included nine silver and 18 bronze. Odisha`s Anupam Mishra and Pallavi Samal clinched a golden double each. Other three gold medallists of the state were Amrit Das, Abhisek Mohanty and Ravi Kumar.
More than 360 male & female kick boxers from 16 states and union territories participated in the three-day championships. Elementary Education Director Sibabrata Das presented the trophies at the closing function.
Indian Association of Kickboxing Organisations president S S Harichandan and host All Odisha Kickboxing Association secretary Pradyumna Behera were present on the occasion.
